1. Information We Collect
We may collect several types of information from and about users of our App, including:
Information you provide to us:
- Account and Profile Information: Name, email, user ID, gender, date of birth, country, optional profile picture.
- User Content: Posts, comments, messages (text and photos).
- Communications: Direct messages and other communications.
- Google Sign-In: We use Google Sign-In for authentication, which may give us access to basic information from your Google account, such as your name and profile picture. You choose your own profile information within the App.
Information we automatically collect:
- Device Information: Device ID, advertising identifier (Ad ID), and other technical identifiers. The Ad ID may be used by Firebase for analytics and attribution purposes.
- Technical Data: Device model, operating system version, app version, network information, IP address, and related technical details.
- Usage Information: Activity within the App, including pages visited, features used, interactions with other users and content, and general engagement metrics.
- Call Data: Limited metadata like call duration and time for calls made using the app.
- Content Moderation: We may use automated tools to detect and filter inappropriate or offensive content when you post messages, comments, or images, in order to maintain a safe and respectful community.
- Analytics and Crash Data: Information collected via Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, and Firebase Crashlytics, which may include device identifiers, crash logs, and other related diagnostic data. These providers may use the information they collect in accordance with their own privacy policies (see Google and Mixpanel).
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the App, manage accounts, and connect you with other users.
- To personalize your experience and show relevant content.
- To facilitate communication through chats, posts, and calls.
- For security, identity verification, fraud prevention, and enforcing terms of service.
- To improve the App using analytics and performance monitoring.
- To send notifications about account activity.
3. How We Share Your Information
- With other users: Public profile information like username, profile pic, country, posts, likes, followers, etc.
- Third-party service providers: For analytics, crash reporting, and App improvement.
- For legal reasons: To comply with law or protect safety and rights.
- Business transfers: In case of mergers or acquisitions, data may be transferred.
4. Data Retention
Deleted accounts will have personal data removed from our active systems within 90 days. Some information may be retained for legal compliance or to prevent abuse. Messages sent to others may remain visible even after account deletion. Content from your account (posts, images, or profile data) that has been saved, shared, or screenshot by other users may remain outside our control.
5. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to servers outside your jurisdiction, where data protection laws may differ. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- Edit your profile and control who can follow you.
- Manage microphone, camera, and notification permissions through your device settings.
- Request access to your personal data and correct inaccuracies.
- Delete your account at any time. Data removal follows the Data Retention policy.
7. Permissions
- Camera and Microphone: Required for voice and video calls. To ensure seamless switching between voice and video calls, the App needs access to your device's camera and microphone when starting a call. You can manage or revoke these permissions through your device settings.
- Notifications: Used to alert you about messages received from other users, as well as likes, followers, and other updates related to your activity in the App. You can control notification permissions through your device settings.
- Bluetooth: Used to connect to Bluetooth headsets for voice and video calls.
- Call Management: Used to manage in-app calls and handle call states seamlessly, including foreground services for active calls.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is for users 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If discovered, such information will be deleted promptly.
9. Security of Your Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data. However, no transmission or storage method is completely secure.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted here, and we advise reviewing the policy regularly.
